Thanks for visiting!  On this site, you can check out songs from my two CDs:
Simon Leahy's Daughter (2006), and Time Again (2013).  Both are available via Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music, Pandora, YouTube and other music distribution sites

As a life sciences marketing professional by day, I developed a passion for music and playing guitar at a young age.  After much soul-searching and self-discovery through my late teens and early twenties, I began writing songs as a means of expressing myself artistically and philosophically.

I’m heavily influenced by classic rock bands and artists from the ’70s and ’80s, with my all-time favorite bands being Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. However, I appreciate and respect great music from every genre and have always been especially inspired by artists like John Lennon, Bob Marley, Johnny Clegg, Public Enemy, Rage Against the Machine, and others who express strong ideas and seek positive change through their music.  The combination of meaningful lyrics with infectious rhythms and melodies is what inspires me the most, and it's what I strive for through my songwriting.

Artistic expression is the oldest and most universal form of human communication.  When you consider it, art in its many forms transcends every language, religion, and cultural boundary, and artists have always played a crucial role in conveying new ideas, bridging barriers, and helping people and societies evolve and change over time.  Creative works beget new creative works that reflect the knowledge, aesthetics, and controversies of the time in which they originate, and speak to the future in ways that can be profoundly inspirational and transformative.

This is not to say I have any illusions of changing the world.  I do not.  But I do believe every individual can make a difference, and when you have a particular talent or passion, it's kind of the Universe's way of saying, ' Hey, you need to keep at this. '   I don't want to look back with regret for not having shared my art when I could, so I am resolved to continue learning and improving as a guitarist and as a singer/songwriter, and to share my art for as long as I can.  If I can inspire others, now or in the future, to follow their heart and passion, to develop and nurture their talents, and to contribute in their unique way to making a difference, then that would be all the better.
